Regular rates. The following rates, which shall be maximum rates and are not to be exceeded, shall be charged for taxicab service within the corporate limits of the city and up to two miles beyond as determined by taxicab meters:
- For the first one-seventh mile: $1.80.
- For each additional one-seventh mile thereafter: $0.30 or $2.10/mile.
- Per hour waiting time: $18.00.
- A surcharge of up to $0.50 per trip between the hours of 12:00 midnight and 6:00 a.m.
For major area airports Raleigh-Durham, Charlotte CLT, Piedmont Triad International PTI, we have very competitive rates for the following schools' staff and students: Wake Forest University, Winston-Salem State University, Salem College, Salem Academy and North Carolina School of the Arts. Flat rates for other destinations are also available for the general public.
